We are proud to say that we’re one of the movers that are part of the Virginia Movers and Warehousemen’s Association (VMWA), and Around Town Movers couldn’t be happier to hear that our own David Underwood has been installed as the Region I representative of the VMWA Board of Directors.
What Is the Virginia Movers and Warehousemen’s Association?
The VMWA is organized to help movers in the Virginia area achieve the best possible operating environment for movers and clients alike. It aims to foster the interests of its members, ultimately creating a thriving community that encourages business. The organization is directed by an elected Board of Directors, an Executive Director and appointed members serving in various committees.
The Board of Directors consists of nine elected members divided among three different regions of the state, with Region I representing Northern Virginia. Having been in the moving business for almost 40 years, we can’t think of anyone else better suited for such a position than our founder, David Underwood.
About Around Town Movers
David started as a piano mover in 1978 and later founded the successful moving company 2GT, Inc. in 1989. With nearly 40 years of experience in the moving and storage industry, David has also founded Busy Buddies, a dedicated senior move management company. In 2011, he sold 2GT and later formed Hometown Services LLC, which ultimately became Around Town Movers.
Around Town Movers has since expanded its services to become a comprehensive moving company. We offer specialty services like piano moving and temporary and long-term storage. With David Underwood now being part of the VMWA Board of Directors, members – and clients in Virginia and nearby areas – can benefit from his experience and insights as a veteran of the moving industry.
